Stairwell Improvisation

by Grady Gerbracht & Ellen Wetmore

/

about

Site & Sound is a series of events, which examine the border between performance and everyday life. Challenging the distinction between audience and performer, these events are enacted in the semi-public space of stairwell No.29 where members of an unsuspecting public may interrupt them.

Each event is conceived as a Spatial Portrait. The artists and invited guests do not perform in the space, but rather perform the space itself by rhythmic and tonal improvisation.
